Did you know, India has a spa for elephants and on their World Adventures Stories, Coding Critters™ dinos, Rumble and Bumble discovered this and another 10 facts about India kids. This special spa takes care of elephants and helps these giant creatures beat the heat by keeping them cool.
If dinosaurs still existed today, our coding pals Rumble and Bumble would be much bigger than elephants. But for now, elephants are the largest creatures roaming dry land. Did you know that Indian elephants are different from those found in Africa? African elephants are bigger, have larger ears, and their skin is more wrinkled.

10 fascinating facts about India for kids
- India is in South Asia, and its capital is New Delhi. The country’s largest city is Mumbai and it is home to about 5 million people.
- The interesting-looking building in Rumble and Bumble’s story is the Taj Mahal and it’s one of the most famous buildings in the world. Work began in 1628 and took 30 years to complete. These days, millions of people from around the world visit this beautiful place each year.
- Need to post a letter in the city of Srinagar? No problem, but you’ll find it floating on the river! That’s right – India has a floating post office where you can buy stamps, post letters and visit the postage stamp museum on this floating post office.
- Hindi is the official language spoken in India and the currency is the Rupee.

- Animals found in India include the Indian elephant, Bengal tiger, Indian rhinoceros, and the Indian giant squirrel. The Bengal tiger is the country’s national animal, and it has a thick yellow coat of fur with dark stripes.
- Cows are sacred in this part of the world and people do not eat them. Cows can walk wherever they want and it’s normal to see cows walking on the streets through traffic.
- India really does have a spa for elephants. It gets very hot during July and to help elephants keep their cool in the scorching heat, they’re pampered with massages and cool baths.
- The people of India take part in many sacred celebrations during the year and one of the most important is Diwali, the festival of lights. It normally takes place in November, and people decorate their homes, shops and public places with small oil lamps called diyas. They also enjoy fireworks and delicious foods.

- The national fruit of India is the mango. This yummy fruit is sweet and juicy, and has vitamins A, C and D.
- Fancy a cuppa tea? Did you know that aside from water, tea is the most popular beverage in the world and India is the second largest producer? In the UK, we drink about 100 million cups a day. That’s a lot of tea.
