Learning Resources Easy Easter Ideas for Families Playfoam Combo 8-Pack Craft

This 'cheep' and cheerful idea is a fun alternative to chocolate eggs.

You’ll need:

  • A pod of Playfoam in its dome packaging – try yellow from the Playfoam Combo 8-Pack
  • Coloured card in yellow and orange
  • Scissors
  • Black marker
  • Googly eyes
  • Sticky tape

Do this activity: Cut around sealed pod of Playfoam until you have a single yellow pod. Fold a sheet of orange card in half and cut a triangle to make the chick’s beak. Open the beak and use the black marker to draw two smaller triangles on the inside. Add tape to the beak and stick it to the centre of the pod. Cut a tail feather and two wings from the yellow card. Try this idea inspired by Christmas advent calendars.

You’ll need:

  • Plastic reusable eggs – try our Discovery Eggs
  • A clean eggbox
  • Coloured card
  • Black marker
  • Small candy Easter eggs or jellybeans, or even biodegradable confetti or coloured tissue paper to put inside
  • Sticky tape
  • Optional: Strips of coloured paper

Do this activity: Fill the Discovery Eggs with small Easter eggs or jellybeans or the biodegradable confetti. For an eggciting surprise, write down a fun idea for an activity to try that day. Seal the eggs. Cut out 6 squares approximately 2cm square. Number each square from 1-6 and stick to the eggs. Place them in the eggbox and you’ll have a fun 6-day countdown surprise to Easter Sunday.
