Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual financial awareness campaign built to inspire children and young people to learn about money matters, livelihoods and entrepreneurship.
The earlier children learn about money, the better they willmanage their finances through their lives. Money skills help children learn thedifference between earning, saving, and spending which will in time, help themto budget and have healthier money habits.
During GMW, organisations including financial institutions,local businesses, universities, schools and more, work together to organisedifferent types of activities for children to spark excitement around the topicof money.
There are so many products that are fun and exciting but also educational. We have a selection of money toys and games that will have your little ones understanding, counting and spending money in no time. They won’t even realise they are learning!

Our toy Cash Register is perfect for money recognition and early maths skills through imaginative play. The set includes a cash register with a working cash drawer, pretend credit card and 44 play money pieces which include:
- Five each of £50, £20, £10 and £5 play notes
- Five each of 2p and 1p pieces

The cash register also has a working solar poweredcalculator which is great for simple additions and subtractions.
Set up a pretend shop with items around the house and labelthem with prices. Take it in turns to be the shop keeper and see if your littleone can add up the price of the items and give you the correct change.

Your little ones will learn how to recognise the values of coins and notes, add and subtract money, make change and understand the way money is used. This set includes:

Use the coins and notes to discuss the images on the frontand back of a coin. What colour is each coin/note? Which one is the largest?Which note is worth the most money?
Spin the spinner to identify the amount represented on each coin/note. Spin side one of the spinner and have your child find that coin, then name and identify both sides of the coin.

Have fun with this money game that develops basic-money related numeracy skills including:

Game play suggestion:
Money Match
- Ensure cards are placed coin side down
- The youngest player starts by spinning the spinner and carrying out the action it lands on. If they land on pick up card/s, the player picks a card from the top of the pile looking at the side with the coins. The player must find the plastic coins in the pile that match the coins on the card. If they can make a correct match, they put the coins into the bank and keep the card. If they do not make a correct match, the card gets put at the bottom of the pile (coin side down) and the coins are returned.
- It is then the next player’s turn. Players take turns spinning the spinner and carrying out the action it lands on. The first player to collect 10 cards wins!
- For a shorter game, the first player to collect five cards wins

Money Bags™ A Coin Value Board Game
Children can earn money as they move around the game board, completing common household chores. This simple game is ideal for developing numeracy skills, financial awareness, coin value recognition and more!
How to play:
- Setup the game as per the instructions
- Place the player pieces on the start space
- Each player rolls the die and moves that number of spaces around the game board
- Each space shows a household chore and the amount earnt
- Once on a space the player needs to spin the spinner to determine which coin values to use when taking their pay from the bank
- Watch out for the £ and Bank Exchanges spaces for additional activities
- Game play ends when the first person crosses the finish line
- The winner is the player with the most money when the game ends, not the player to cross the line first!
